Green Meetings
The newly renovated Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel has introduced many initiatives to ensure your San Francisco meeting is a Green Meeting. Below are just a few examples of our green meeting and accommodations initiatives. Please contact our sales team for more information:
- In-Room water saving shower heads and faucet aerators
- Ozone machines installed on laundry washers allowing the hotel to reduce the use of soap/detergent
- Heat exchange system installed on laundry washers which transfers heat energy from outgoing hot water cycles to partially heat incoming city water supply
- Using environmentally sensitive Ecolab™ laundry products
- Use of compact fluorescent lighting, which consumes 75% less energy than conventional bulbs
- Florescent bulb and battery recycling
- Separate waste stream and recyclables implemented throughout the hotel, including guest rooms
- Separate “green waste” diverted to become compost for local Sonoma County farms, equal to 25% of our entire waste stream
- Cooking and lubricating oil recycling - cooking oil re-processed into bio-diesel
- Dedicated use of energy efficient electrical equipment throughout building
- Thermostat control system in guest rooms, regulates heating and cooling by sensor to ensure unoccupied rooms do not waste energy
- Contribute to less waste by: offering reuse program of linens for extended stay guests, holding an environmental purchasing policy and using recycled products
- Participation in energy and water conservation programs, taking into consideration variables such as weather, meeting room occupancy and hotel activity levels
